Arthur Diamonstein - Chairman of the Board
Arthur, son of founding partner Albert Diamonstein, joined the company in 1954 after he served in the Korean War campaign. Arthur is a graduate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Under his reign, Paramount evolved into a major player on the east coast. Retired, he now sits as the chairman of the board and is still involved in major decision of the company.
Richard Fleck – President
As president of Paramount Sleep, Richard’s visionary approach to strategic growth combined with his grass roots management style creates a platform for long term success. He is credited with playing a key role in the successful transition of Paramount Sleep from an independent mattress manufacturer with a single point of distribution to a global manufacturer of quality bedding products. He joined Paramount Sleep in 2008 as senior vice president of sales and was later promoted to executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
A 25-year bedding industry veteran with experience in retail, wholesale and manufacturing, Richard has extensive knowledge of the bedding industry. He has held senior level sales and marketing positions at some of the industry’s leading brands. Fleck began his career in 1987 as a retail sales associate at Federated Department Stores, Bullock’s division, and was accepted to its Executive Training Program. He later went on to become a bedding buyer for Broadway Department Stores and Barker Brothers Furniture Store.
Richard G. Diamondstein – Managing Director
Richard is the Managing Director of our company, a 3rd generation family mattress manufacturing business started in 1933 and one of the oldest in the United States that has been continuously owned by the same family. Richard graduated from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce with a B.S. in Commerce. He also has a J.D. degree from the University of Richmond School of Law and worked for a number of years practicing law before joining the family business in 1985. Within the mattress industry, he has been actively involved in the International Sleep Products Association having served for 12 years on its Board and as Board Chairman and, more recently, as a Board Member and Chairman of the Mattress Recycling Council since its inception in 2014. Outside of the business, he has been actively involved in his community, serving on the boards of Norfolk Academy, Ohef Sholom Temple, Norfolk Sister Cities Association, MacArthur Memorial, Greater Norfolk Corporation and as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Norfolk.
